Super Simple Guacamole Recipe!
Holy Moly I love Guacamole! And this super simple guacamole recipe is the cure for my addiction!
No, seriously…I might have a problem. I can eat this stuff as a meal by itself.
I love ordering guacamole at restaurants…but A. you never know if it’s fresh and B. it’s expensive!! Truth be told…I ate a lot of this stuff on our recent road trip to San Antonio, Texas. So, as soon as I got home, I decided to whip up this super simple recipe…you know to help me relive my favorite travel memories! (LOL…any excuse to eat more guacamole is good with me!!)

Ingredients for My Super Simple Guacamole Recipe!
Fresh ingredients are the most import requirement for this super simple guacamole recipe…just avocados, onion, lime, and some spices…and you are good to go!
I prefer to use white sweet onions but a lot of people prefer red onions…try both and see which one you like the best!
One important thing to remember is that guacamole does not keep long…I usually make it in the morning and it’s gone by the next day. You can totally make as much as you want depending on how many people you’re trying to feed but keep in mind it’s shelf life is short. This recipe is usually good for two people. If it’s just me, then I cut the recipe in half- simple! Some people don’t mind room temperature guacamole, but I prefer to chill mine if the refrigerator for a couple hours. This gives it time for the flavors to mingle and develop!
Super Simple Guacamole Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 avocados
- 1 lime
- 1/4 onion diced (use whichever type of onion you like best!)
- salt & pepper to taste
- a dash of onion powder
- a dash of garlic powder
Instructions
-
Cut avocado and onion and mix together. I like to use a fork to mash everything up including the onion…gets those yummy juices going! Squeeze the juice of a lime over the mixture. Add seasonings. Mash all ingredients together. Chill a couple hours before serving!
A few notes when making your homemade guacamole:
- Cut your avocado in half and remove the pit. Score half the avocado with a knife and then scoop out the insides with a spoon!
- If your lime has been in the refrigerator you can microwave it for 10 seconds to get more juices flowing. You can also roll it on the counter top for a similar effect.
- If you like more spicy guacamole, consider adding some jalapenos or peppers.
- Cilantro is definitely a personal choice…add some if you like it!
I know guacamole isn’t for everyone. In fact, my husband hates it. And a lot of people like to add a lot of other ingredients like jalapenos, peppers, salsa or tomatoes even! I like this super simple version. It’s a great way to start out with guacamole and then change the recipe to suit your taste.
